Alumni Spotlight: Michael Mason

Michael is an alumnus of the class of 1998 at the Schrader Lane Childcare Center under the direction of Shirley McCleskey. He was a 2nd-generation graduate, his mother was in the class of 1978 and his daughter will be in the future class of 2026. There is a lot Mr. Mason wanted to share about the his experiences at Schrader Lane Childcare Center, but summarized it in these kind words below. “I had the BEST teachers. My favorites were Treva Booker, the late Ms. Bean, Ms. Love, Ms. Amissa and Ms. Jackie…and of course the BEST kindergarten teacher hands down, Ms. McCleskey!!! We had the most creative programs and we had to memorize a lot. Looking back, I appreciate the fact that our teachers knew our potential and they pushed us to be our best. Anything less was unacceptable.”

Thank you Michael for all of your kind words, we appreciate your mother’s forethought of continuing the tradition of early education by proof of your attendance and graduation here and we appreciate you for continuing the legacy by entrusting your daughters early education with us. Perhaps years down the road she’ll share her experiences as an alumni of SLCLA.
